I am a Registered Psychologist and Certified teacher in special education. My passion in life is assessment. I especially love engaging in conversations that consider learning across the lifespan. I’ve been fortunate to have worked in both the school system and private sector. I’ve performed assessment and diagnosis for pediatric populations and youth with Complex Developmental Behavioural Conditions, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorders. During my time at a Provincial adolescent treatment centre, I worked within a multi-interdisciplinary team comprised of psychiatrists, social workers and other health care professionals to assess and diagnose at-risk youth, many of which were part of the forensics system requiring comprehensive care plans and outreach support.
My own research has focused on the evaluation of cognitive processes and neurological function in relation to the academic performance of diverse multicultural populations. I’ve also taught advanced psychological assessment and statistical analysis in a faculty of graduate studies, supervising graduate students.
I hold a Doctorate in School Psychology from the University of British Columbia, a Masters of Education from Queen’s University, a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University, and an undergrad in Psychology from Carleton University.
