As a doctoral intern at Compass Clinic, I provide psychological assessment and therapeutic intervention services to children, youth, and families. I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the School and Applied Child Psychology program at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and hold an M.A. degree in the same program. I have worked in private, school, and community settings where I have collaborated with teachers, school administration, specialists, and parents in supporting the needs of children and youth. In these spaces, I have obtained extensive experience in assessment and intervention for behavioural difficulties, complex neurodevelopmental differences, and mental health challenges. My clinical work is rooted in culturally responsive practice that attends to an individual’s intersecting identities, community connections, and systemic influences. In therapy, I aim to provide a collaborative, warm, and non-judgmental environment where evidence-based practices are incorporated in a flexible manner, tailored to the unique context of each individual. I believe that building trust, creating a safe space, and incorporating strengths helps my clients move toward their goals.
