“Try another way” ~ Dr. Marc Gold

Here at Compass Clinic, I primarily conduct developmental assessments for young children suspected of having Autism Spectrum Disorder. I have previously worked in hospital, school district, private practice, and residential settings, providing psychological and educational assessment, treatment, and consultation for children, youth, families, and support staff. My clinical background includes specialized training and experience in Positive Behaviour Support and Applied Behaviour Analysis programing and intervention at the individual and systems levels. I have a particular interest in working with individuals with neurodevelopmental differences, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. I am also passionate about family-centered approaches to mental health and behavioural treatment for children and youth. I recently completed my pre-doctoral residency in Clinical Child Psychology at McMaster Children’s Hospital in the Autism Spectrum Disorder and Child and Youth Mental Health services, with a minor rotation in the Developmental Pediatrics service. I am in the final stages of completing my PhD in School Psychology at the University of British Columbia, and am currently working under supervision at Compass Clinic. My research at UBC focused on the implementation and sustainability of School-Wide Positive Behavioural Interventions and Supports (SW- PBIS), as well as social and behavioural contributions to reading intervention effectiveness.
