"The purpose of life is to discover your gift; the work of life is to develop it; and the meaning of life is to give your gift away." ~ David Viscott

I am a registered psychologist with fifteen year's experience with children and youth who have learning challenges and developmental disabilities. In providing assessments and consultations, my goal is to integrate parents' own deep knowledge about their children with a detailed scientific knowledge of learning disabilities and child development. I believe that with realistic knowledge of a child's gifts and challenges, the road to success can be seen more clearly.I have worked for many years within the health care system in roles that have included the assessment and diagnosis of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders and other complex neurodevelopmental disorders, supervision of trainees, community teaching, and leadership in best practice and policy. I have been a member of national and local advisory panels related to developmental disabilities including fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. I have been involved in efforts to achieve better collaboration between the health care system and the education system in addressing children's learning and behaviour needs.
